Local Place Plan

What is it and why take part?

A Local Place Plan sets out how the community would like their area to be reflected in the next Dumfries & Galloway Council Local Development Plan.

The Local Development Plan covers all aspects of planning and land use including where development will and won't be allowed.

Carsphairn Community Council are taking part in the Local Place Planning process for the following reasons:

  • to make sure the local community has a say in developments that affect their lives;
  • to find out what the community wants and needs to make Carsphairn the best it can be;
  • to gather evidence of projects needed, for funding applications.
