Back: Mr Wright, Marscalloch, 1953
'That dark wood was cut down, and now forest trees on 3 sides of us (15 years old). I think spruce and larch and just as nice when larch sheds its leaves, they turn a beautiful russet brown, the lovely firs and spruce are all intermingled with the larch. This was Marscalloch 30 years ago before the dam filled up the valley. No hayshed now, I hear it was burned down. Hydro electric board made this dam, and it's a never-ending joy to me. I love watching the ducks etc on water.'
