Carsphairn Archive

Welcome to the Carsphairn Archive!

Carsphairn Heritage Initiative is a Scottish Incorporated Charity (SC049987), based in South West Scotland which looks after an archive of family history records, documents, photographs, slides and artefacts relating to the local area.

Our aims are to preserve our collection and make it accessible to as many people as possible via this online archive. You can find out more about us under About us and on our CHI page on the community website.

We have links all over the world via family history researchers and are always pleased to help where we can. There are tips of how to use the archive to do your own research here.

In the online archive you can:
  • use the menu to browse our past exhibitions, some previously shown in the Heritage Centre and some newly created online;
  • look through our collections of photos, documents and artefacts grouped by theme;
  • search the archive to look for specific records;
  • take a virtual tour using the map.
If you'd like to get involved in the digitisation process, please get in touch by emailing us here!
